Film Hub NI was established in 2013 by Queen’s Film Theatre, Belfast in their capacity as NI’s BFI Film Hub Lead Organisation (FHLO). FHNI works to harness the creativity and energy of the film exhibition sector across NI and ensure a wide range of film is available to everyone. We do this by developing inventive ways to increase and diversify the audience for film through investment, creative initiatives and collaboration with a wide range of partners.

Film Hub North

Film Hub North is network of organisations committed to fostering a vibrant, flourishing film culture in the North of England. Led in partnership by HOME, Manchester and Showroom Cinema, Sheffield, they support and represent a wide-ranging group of exhibitors and filmmakers throughout the region. Working across Cheshire, County Durham, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Northumberland, North Lincolnshire, Tyne & Wear and Yorkshire, Film Hub North distribute National Lottery funds on behalf of the BFI Film Audience Network and BFI NETWORK. They provide funding and training that helps exhibitors expand their reach, develops local filmmaking talent and, ultimately, ensures that audiences in the North have access to a rich variety of cinema.

Film Hub Scotland

Film Hub Scotland is a network of like-minded film exhibitors – from film societies to multiplexes – which work together to better serve Scotland's diverse population. Film Hub Scotland provide Hub members with a range of funding opportunities, screening programmes, training, networking events and audience research, helping Scotland's exhibitors become truly inclusive, reaching as many new and existing audiences as possible. Funding from the UK National Lottery enables BFI FAN to continue its broad range of activity to encourage greater engagement with independent and British film across the UK.

Film Hub South West

Managed by Watershed and supported by National Lottery funding, Film Hub South West is a growing network of over 140 cinemas, film festivals, cross-arts venues and other film exhibition organisations. The hub works with its members to develop a thriving and inclusive cultural film exhibition sector. Film Hub South West membership is free and offers a range of benefits, including access to training, financial support, film programmes/seasons and networking opportunities. As of 2018, Film Hub South West is also home to a BFI Network Talent Executive focussed on ensuring talent from across the South West can access expertise and funding for short film and early development work.

Film Hub Wales

Film Hub Wales (FHW) aims to bring more films, to more people, in more places around Wales. They work with over 280 Welsh cinemas, arts centres, community venues, societies, festivals and wider film practitioners to develop inventive and inclusive ways for all people in Wales to access British independent and international cinema. Chapter (Cardiff) is the Film Hub Lead Organisation (FHLO) for Wales, with the mission to work in partnership with members across Wales, the UK and Europe, to bring new film experiences to audiences across the nation and beyond.

The BFI Film Audience Network (BFI FAN) aims to ensure the greatest choice of film is available for everyone across the whole of the UK. Supported by National Lottery funding, it is a unique collaboration of eight Film Hubs, managed by leading film organisations and venues strategically placed around the country. Established in 2012, it now has over 1,200 members, including cinemas, festivals, multi-arts venues, community cinemas and film archives, and is at the heart of the BFI’s strategy to build larger and more diverse audiences for UK and international film and a thriving cinema exhibition sector.  Get involved!
