Wednesday 4 September, 2pm – 4pm (Online)

BFI FAN members from across the UK are invited to join this second Open Session as part of the REACH: Strategic Audience Development programme.

About this session

Züleyha Azman, Marketing Director of KINO Rotterdam, will join us online to share how they have successfully grown audiences and built a community through their distinctive approach to social media marketing. Züleyha will focus on the fundamentals of a strong social media presence and content plan, providing a step-by-step guide to how they manage their various platforms and offering insight into what drives their decisions.

Our second speaker is Florence Bell, Social Media and Digital Content Manager for the Young Vic Theatre in London. Florence will provide an introduction to the various social media platforms you might consider using, before discussing how they build their strategy, assess risks and develop their organisation’s online tone of voice.

The session will provide attendees with practical tips they can take away and immediately apply to their own social media strategy.

Speakers

Züleyha Azman has been the marketing director of KINO in Rotterdam since its opening in 2016. Her expertise lies in developing unique visual content, tone of voice, and storytelling. For KINO this approach has resulted in bringing curated classic programmes and special events to new and younger audiences. She views marketing and programming not as separate disciplines, but as interconnected fields. Her expertise in both cinema and marketing has proven to be a potent mix.

She is convinced that in today’s cinema landscape these marketing tools, programmes, and events are indispensable for achieving success. Thus, she produces and creates innovative and compelling visual marketing assets that captivate audiences.

Florence Bell is a marketer who specialises in organic social media for the non-profit sector. Currently she leads on social media and video content for the Young Vic Theatre in London, alongside freelance social media strategy and audit work for charities and third sector organisations. Her previous work includes marketing at the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond and media relations for ZOO and MultiStory (both at the Edinburgh Fringe).
