The ninth edition of This Way Up will take place in Dundee, Scotland, at Dundee Contemporary Arts, 30 November-1 December, 2022.
An evening reception will be hosted at V&A Museum, Dundee. As in 2021, the conference will also be live streamed to online delegates.
Every year, This Way Up welcomes film exhibitors from across the UK. It is a place to come together to consider the key issues that affect our sector, and to develop creative solutions. As we sit on the cusp of a new 10-year BFI National Lottery Funding Strategy (April 2023- March 2033) this is a vital time for us to look towards the future.
In-person delegates will be in a melting pot of new ideas and industry initiatives. In-person passes will be priced at £135 + VAT.
As in 2021, an online version of the event will allow delegates to tune in to live sessions remotely and participate in discussion during the conference. Online passes will be priced at £50 + VAT.

About This Way Up
This Way Up is the UK’s only independent film exhibition conference and offers a unique space where industry questions can be addressed and answers sought. The event is produced by Film Hub Scotland and Film Hub North, with support from Film Hub Midlands, as part of the BFI Film Audience Network (BFI FAN) which is supported by National Lottery funding. BFI FAN was established in 2012 to build wider and more diverse UK cinema audiences for British and international film.
